The purpose of the ePAT App is to make the measurement of pain a non subjective thing. It uses facial recognition and then correlates that to the Abbey pain scale. Its the facial recognition bit that makes it a qualitative tool. Trails on dementia patients have shown a 90% correlation with the Abbey Pain Scale. They are talking about being ready for commercialisation later this year and then next year the ePAT app for use with children will be ready. Good thing is that once the cap raising for the RTO is done no more funds will be needed to commercialise both versions of the App. Likely to be RAP Mk2.
