GIR have said today that transport to PH would make up 47% of the cost of production at Mt Webber (150km from PH). Transport costs are more significant at McPhee Creek (220km from PH as the crow flies. In other words, whilst we might end up with four or five times the tonnage of Mt Webber, the NPV on a per tonne basis will be that much worse, ceteris paribus.

That's why a rail deal would be oh so sweet.
