In theory this stock looked great. But...
There seemed to be this constant litany of "we have some money on the way" followed by "yeah, that money is going to be late." There was always some excuse as to why they weren't able to turn a profit after saying they were on the cusp of it.
But most of all, after holding it all the way down from the mid 30s, I could no longer explain to myself why I held NBS. I contacted company HQ with a series of questions. The very pleasant receptionist took my name and number and noted that I was a shareholder, and then nothing happened.
Now I accept that Peter and Co may have other things to do than talk to every shareholder that rings up (though I can't imagine for the life of me what they are) but getting no response was the last straw. I hold stock in companies many times larger than NBS, and after contacting them with questions I heard back from the CEO within a matter of hours. I can tell you, it is very reassuring to feel like the people running your company are willing to address your concerns.
I held my stock or increased my holdings in those companies, and I have now profited from that. NBS, I sold the day the non-takeover was announced.
