They had to do the ranger and the hilux as the landcruiser series are being moved off all modern mines sites as they don't meet OH&S these days. Not sure how the more modern rangers will last in the really rough and corrosive stuff . It may open up the opportunity for a firm like the old OKA to start up again for heavy transports or ford may do some special treatment of chassis and panels. Aftermarket treatments of heavy waxes do help but need reapplication and time is money and it slow maintenance This has been known to be on the horizon for 3 years so was always surprised that they haven't had a product earlier but I hope they know teh mines transition and lifecycle better than I do. If not they missed the start of the transition again. . Sad to see the cruisers off site and I wonder if toyota have worked out that the hilux are just too expensive and not as tough and simple as they once were. Guess that is why mines picked the ranger as much lower cost and better dynamics and better load ability and Ford will be supporting them. Interesting these guys are still seemingly doing it alone . It would be good to see a partnership with ford for a commercial mine package vehicle rather than all aftermarket. Still unloved as it deserves to be unloved until there is actually revenue that will justify any value and to see if the manufactured parts can actually be installed and mines are happy. If they don't tell anyone how many orders they have or where the other trials are really up to no one will blink at these guys and th only etime you will here a peep is a run up to when they need more $ again.
