Interesting take brisboy on less variability in braking by using SIBS , and thus more compatible with onboard electronics .
I am aware of the higher wear with taxis , many taxi operators use the Toyota Prius hybrid one of the benefits of being a hybrid is less brake wear as when engine braking the altinator is powered by the drive wheels to recharges the battery , meaning less wear on the brakes, prius cars get up to 150k kms on a set of brake pads .

If that technology were introduced on all cars there would be less sets of calipers sold .Personally feel the truck and trailer market is a better focus than the car market , and would be good to get it as an original equipment manufacturer status for trucks rather than aftermarket which means more work installing , plus waste from the thrown out drums etc.
60 ton of weight being slowed down is going to get better brake savings though using SIBS than the average family car weighing 1.5 tons
