Some interesting paragraphs from the interview with Maggie Beer in the Weekend Australian. Thought some of the bed wetters here might appreciate them

As for the future of the Maggie Beer food brand, she believes it still has a strong future in Australia as well as potential in Asia, particularly China and India, with the business exploring opportunities in the two huge Asian nations.
“I hate the word gourmet, and in fact I won’t use the word gourmet, but we make really beautiful products made with such care and really that are accessible and go from accessible to aspirational,” she says. “So, some of our products are purchases every week and some for special occasions. And as such what we need with the infrastructure of our kitchens and equipment is economies of scale in making products. And so without a doubt the Asian and Indian markets are about finding that right product and we are already in China with our ice cream and this is sort of the beginning.
“We have been focused on the Australian market and just investigating in India, we know it’s about finding that right product and we can run with it.’’
