What woundvue is doing with its standalone device is completly different from the mere image archiving that this patent recognises for 3DM.
The image archiving that 3DM achieves is said to be "device agnostic" and in this case it is broadening image capture to take on the most common device in everone's pocket.
Personally, I think I would like to use something with better resolution in order to create a 3D printed knee/hip etc. X-rays , ultrasound. MRI etc being more accurate/appropriate. But it is perfect to manage patient records for those other things that are indicated that cover some of the 60% of images outside of radiology and cardiology.
Without knowing the specifications of the patent however (is it restricted to mobile phones? or does it cover any device with a lens that transmits images electronically?) it is possible that woundvue may actually contravene 3DM's patent!!!
LBT is producing diagnostic toolsets that do not conflict with 3DMs approach.
