As I understand it, a trading halt is for two business days, or until the announcement is made, whichever comes first. If the ASX were to suspend trading pending a full investigation, we would see an announcement to that effect; they wouldn't keep us hanging.
I'm not sure what's going on - in any case, the requested trading halt expires at start of trading tomorrow, absolute latest, so I'd expect to see something by then.
