@Cridz
Plenty of evidence at Lulo and all the way downstream to the mighty Congo River to suggest that the Cacuilo and Lulo rivers always flowed from east to west.
There are/ were many alluvial diamond mines stretching from the Congo, and upstream along the Cuango, Cacuilo and Lulo rivers. The average diamond size increases as you head upstream from the Congo, until you reach the Lulo concession, where they are maxed out.
The source to most, if not all of those diamonds, came from kimberlites located within the Lucapa Graben fault system. To theorise that the Cacuilo and/ or the Lulo rivers may have once flowed in the opposite direction would mean that the source to all the alluvial diamonds along and in the Cuango, Cacuilo and Lulo rivers did not come from kimberlites located within the Lucapa Graben.
If that were case, they would have to rewrite the entire geological and scientific books on Angola diamonds.
