Hi Fiendish - there is a logtime (or more accurately a log scale) aspect to this. I am a newby to resources but am conversant with this concept from teaching it. Logtime equates things across vast distances of time - remember the Life on Earth Series? Where they said things like 'by breakfast, the dinosaurs had learnt to fly?' - that's logtime. Water systems (according to the announcement) are monitored using logtime - making a 25 day test a fair reflection of and equating to a long term test pump.
