Wow looking at that page may make you gasp a little - I think you should look at the 5 year performances as that is fair on a share basis investing in long dated projects like SOL and BKW.
Simply put the conservative equity funds best I could find about 3.9% over 5 years. SOl's performance: total shareholder return 15% As you will also note Fund mangers also have another trick up their sleeve after GFC events they close funds and start new ones that build up a track record based upon a new zero date.
Sorry my performance may also be better than SOL and BKW but I take more risk on a risk adjusted rate I would not outperform them. Bluntly put there are many outperforming portfolios but with a risk adjustment not that many and certainly not over the long term, such as these guys.
Actually you need to look at the rabbits these guys have produced over the years - The move into Ruralco - now showing itself to be a leader in that sector , TPM also well placed. Yes API had its issues but the sector restructure and the changes have affected that. They do make mistakes but very often they do hit the high notes.
Do the research and you may well be surprised how this stock has held up and grown wealth for its investors.
Perpetual seems to have all the answers but none of the past results - Why should it be that they are allowed to have a free ride - If they lose fund managers its something inside that business that is wrong - really I dont care what they do - just look after your share price by performing - the only measure has to be share price. The underlying funds performance drives sp.
