By the way, regarding to small shale gas fairway of Cooper Basin; It is the most important point that the gas in Cooper basin contains 20% CO2 which needs to be removed (creates methane gas which has a very high carbon emission.) This CO2 is he biggest problem in Cooper basin players which pumps the gas Moomba gas plant. They are trying to find a way to put that CO2 into a carbon storage under the ground. Otherwise they will have to pay a lot of carbon price.

The Santos-Shell-Petronas-Osaka Gas JV in Evans Shoal in Timor Sea (6 TCF) have the same high CO2 (25%)problem, so that project is still idle. Conoco-Santos JV also has the high CO2 (12.5%) problem (but not that severe) in Borossa/Calditta project (3.4 TCF).

A gas project with high CO2 may be considered as uneconomical in some certain conditions.

The shale gas in Canning basin is not considered to be with high CO2 in any of the research so far.
