So for non-technical people this is a bit of a challenge to come to grips with, conglomerate hosted gold at the base of Permian conglomerates in "runs" or paleo-alluvial channels that are thin, almost horizontal and erratic in distribution.

Note that the Bulk Samples by Impact and previous workers (triangles and squares) are from spoil of a truck mounted dry-blower campaign, note these results are in g of Gold per cubic metre.

Samples from shaft spoils (round sample circles) may not be representative but have very high gold grades in g/T

This will be tricky to evaluate although they are working on granted mining leases so have a bit more flexibility to try different sampling and even trial mining or bulk mining techniques. They also need to do some petrololgical studies and get a grip on the different rock types and what the old historical shaft miners were actually digging up.

I wonder why they didn't do a particle sized evaluation of some bulk samples to get a grip on what the particle size of the gold is? If its coarse grained gold then all sorts of sampling and QA/QC problems arise, if its fine grained gold then they still have the issue of erratic distribution in the old paleo-channels, and realistically, the only way to test them is by bulk costean/trench samples or even trial mining, and then they have the issue of how thick and stable the Permian overburden is (and if it may contain lenses of gold inside the Permian and not just the conglomerate at the base of the Permian).

I don't think drilling is going to tell them anything other than what the geological stratigraphy is until they get a grip on where the gold is hosted laterally and vertically and what grainsize it is.

They will have fun trying to work out what geophysical technique (if any) is useful in identifying where the Permian basal conglomerate "runs" or leaders are....

Oh - and just noticed there are also recent Tertiary basalts on top of the Permian and Precambrian Anakie basement as well just to make it more confusing. What a fun geo-morphology puzzle this will be to figure out.
