I believe it's quite the opposite. He's saying we should put more faith on magnor geologists because they would have more information on the ground.
And the reason I asked the questions in the first place, which @Scarpa kindly answered, was to understand the rationale (although only guessing given the limited info we have) of the approach recommended by Magnor for my own knowledge - not in any way to suggest it was the wrong approach...
