Thankfully Tshipi has its own power/electricity generation. Connecting to the National Grid in South Africa will end up as a disaster.
No end to Eskom bailout furore

As the task team appointed by President Cyril Ramaphosa sweats over solutions for the seemingly intractable problem that is Eskom, the utility’s proposal that the government take R100-billion of the utility’s debt on to its own balance sheet has left some observers scratching their heads and others spitting mad.

The utility is labouring under a debt burden of about R420-billion and its cash from operations is not enough to service its interest payments. It is currently arguing its case before the National Energy Regulator of South Africa for a 15% increase in electricity prices for the coming three years.
All the while, its sales have plateaued in recent years, alongside a rising cost base.

There are many problems, mostly due to lack of foresight and secondly THEFT.
1)  Electrical cables are stolen and the copper sold
2)  Theft of power, typical of third world countries where electricity is stolen, illegal connections, bypassing meters is the usual way.

South Africa has no idea how much power is stolen each year,

Now they expect to cover this by raising electricity prices, won't be long and South Africa  will be in the same category as South Australia.
IE  Too expensive to do business.
