Well that's your opinion. When you've got to drill 2,500 wells in the Bakken with borrowed money and borrow more money to make those holes continue to produce just to match 90 holes in the gulf that can be turn on and off at will, then you can see who the villain is. ZIRP has distort risk investing and created mal-investments everywhere in the world. Without the Fed the fracking boom wouldn't exist now, deflationary pressures wouldn't be rampant in most world economies and paper asset prices wouldn't be ballooning like never before. That fracking technology might have been useful in the distant future if alternative forms of technology couldn't have been found to drive our cars. Well they have been found, which makes this sort of investment even more ludicrous. Thankfully the worst of it will shutdown soon enough. If unconventional was that hot the drills would still be turning in great numbers, they are not and that says it all.
