Vanda Dendrobium hype(r)-car eh?
Just when u thought it couldn't get any worse it suddenly does.

JDA for potential sales of Singaporean concept car with production run measured in tens of units? Wonder if a car created by electric-mobility start-up and powered by battery start-up will attract any customers?  Singapore’s Vanda Electrics launched the car as a marketing exercise looking for 'halo' affect around their MotoChimp scooter and Ant truck:

"Still, the supercar is but a lighthouse project for Vanda Electric, meant to bring attention to the company's bread-and-butter electric mobility products."

Bread-and-butter products being Vanda's MotoChimp, capable of 30 km/h.  


and Vanda's Ant 'bin truck' which can carry a tonne of municipal waste and run up to 40 km/h.



All began when waste management & crane repair company, Wong Fong Industries , spins off Vanda Electrics in 2016 to 3 employees:

Vanda Electrics, a 2 yr old start-up company with no previous car building experience, then paid Williams for 'off-the-shelf' EV framework to 'add sliver of credibility by proxy'. Though some journo's not entirely convinced: "Could it just be vapourware with a snazzy F1 name attached to it?"

Wong Fong Industries, has declined offers to CR placements in Vanda Electrics in Jan 2017 and Apr 2018 with holding reduced progressively to 10.3%.


More recently, Vanda Electrics creates a new company, Dendrobium Automotive Limited, established in UK. Apparently the car due “when the technology is reliable and financially viable.”
A scale model is available now for $250.
Wonder if that comes with batteries?
