Sand is stuck in the wellbore after a ferocious (I've always loved that word) gas kick. It didn't fart and die. The sudden surge is exactly what happened at Klebb, we just didn't have the right set-up back then. Reservoir integrity has been maintained, the vertical pump is still running, and the desorption window has been identified. This delay is a frustrating necessity.
As for the extra expense, at least it adds to the sob story for CBA. Throw in a violin and we may reduce them to tears. After a few beers this weekend, I might do the same.
