Further to ROEROC's points, I think you need a level of confidence in your strategy and decisions too. It takes time for these stories to play out often and frequently there are drawdowns before the underlying value is realised. If you have done your due diligence, research and analysis then it helps support that confidence and its easier to wait out the market. Like ROEROC I have made a few stupid decisions that have cost me significant capital, but overall i have picked many more that have performed a bit better than the market and enough that have become multi baggers to make my overall returns very satisfactory.

These days my focus is on avoiding those dumb decisions as that offers the most potential to improve my returns.
