When a shareholder invests in a company it is fair to assume they will embark on the journey they have proposed when they asked you to invest. Things change, and a proactive management team will deviate from the plan but with shareholder approval. How can IOT managment believe in their wildest dreams that shareholders would go for this (or any other of other proposed plans). They are not venture capitalist. They are a business with backers. Your money is not their money. My money was not not their money.
