ST - my guess is the U.S is hedging their bets. As after decades of supporting the House of Saud, and its extremist goals (i.e... it basically is ISIS in all but name, I mean, its pretty clear who orchestrated 9/11 in the U.S - 15 of the 19 Hijackers were Saudi), they perhaps want the Iranians (Shia) on side in case their ability to control them weakens.

Or.. they want more bloodshed in the Middle East, and what better way than to support both of the major powers which are quite literally fighting proxy wars in Syria, Iraq and Yemen.

The whole Syria,ISIS,War or 'Terror' makes me sick, but... the U.S arms industry and all its affiliates have the real control over the U.S government.

Just IMHO of course.
