United has over 5000 flights per day and each flight generates on average 1TB of iot data. If you do the maths that would equate to over a quarter of a billion dollars in revenue for Buddy per year if all the data was uploaded . I think we would be dreaming if we think they will spend that much on Buddy's services either that all we would all own an island in the Caribbean. But one things for sure there will be a mammoth amount of data from aviation.
Another note from yesterdays presentation is that Richard Borestein is the "Incoming Chairman". Of course a silicon valley investor and early investor in Facebook and Linkedin. Chairman at Sequoia Partners for 25+ years in which the company has closed many acquisition deals (as a seller) with start ups.
And of course looks like the Australian Buddy office is going to be based in Adelaide. Nice.
