The biggest problem with ELK IMO is the lack of any exciting news in the short/ medium term.
Had a look at the 'Milestones' Schedule again and the most 'exciting' news we have to look forward to in the short term is a potential 'Letter of Intent' with a utility company for Hereford Gas next month. It'll be interesting to see if they can even achieve that milestone but I seriously doubt a 'letter of intent' will do anything to fire up the share price.
The next potentially 'exciting' news would be if they successfully monetise the Grieve Pipeline in October this year. Again nothing overly spectacular IMO but would ease some low cash balance concerns. Maybe achieving Co2 injection at Grieve in November might have some effect, maybe not.
Personally think that the first real 'exciting' news will be first oil production from Ash Creek targeted for June 2013. Unfortunately, that's still nearly a year away and they are only targeting 100bopd. Nevertheless, it will however be the first EOR project that Elk will have successfully brought online, if it works.
Unless someone can come up with something else, I suspect the share price won't be going anywhere in the short/ medium term. I hope i'm wrong and hopefully someone knows something I don't.
Just my opinion and hoping to generate some healthy discussion.
