We do know the lease on this part for GB was close to lapsing due to lack of drilling activity. Perhaps others OS and Repsol, were were waiting for the lease to lapse and buy it a huge discounted rate, in effect nothing to GB. This way GB get something instead of nothing as the drill means the lease will not lapse? Just a thought
