Faux moral outrage, no I am genuinely disgusted.
I am invested in businesses also and there's no moral high ground. STO for example causes climate change but I am a small investor and active in pushing for change. I don't like what they do but realistically I can't change it. Neither can I change it at CCV, it's the only investment as I say that I would turn my nose up at though.
I did describe the solution as I thought at the time which was that if I had the money I would have bought the company and given it a charitable mandate. To bring people out of poverty rather than entrench them in it.
Look there's a lot of people who pay these loans off but there's also people trapped. As the owner of a business taking the profits you have some obligation to take a stance but then this business wouldn't exist.
It would be different if you acknowledged the issues rather than passing the buck to government regulation and anecdotes about the fridge you bought and paid off. Ultimately the owners of a business are responsible for the actions it takes inasmuch as they have power to change things. You will take the dividend without complaint.
I am not the greatest investor who ever lived I just learned from the best, I hope I am starting to get the hang of it but consider myself an average practitioner at best.
Only time will tell its easy to have a few good years, the long term record will sort the wheat from the chaff.
Shouldn't matter whether you believe me or not - all that matters is being correct in your judgement.
I don't pick the bottom I am often early and wear paper losses but having the courage of your convictions is the key. https://hotcopper.com.au/threads/capital-raising.2782883/page-124?post_id=18152179#.WglhYMuYbqA https://hotcopper.com.au/threads/smx-musings.3100478/page-6?post_id=21241061#.WgliLsuYbqA https://hotcopper.com.au/threads/a-...3176585/page-42?post_id=25214154#.WglfmcuYbqA https://hotcopper.com.au/threads/50...793649/page-605?post_id=25870905#.WglgNMuYbqA
