Probably the quality of the engineering is more critical for an F35 than a subsonic non military aircraft , compounded by the realisation there could also be a slight conflict of interest building a US Air force /Navy plane with Chinese parts that is destined to fly over the Chinese claimed Spratley Islands , given the Chinese probably would like that F35 to fall out of the sky from a failed part
