Not often that you can measure gold grade in percentage terms. I guess that that 10cm section of core contains 3% gold.
The core looks like HQ with an internal diameter of 63.5 mm.
10cm of that core has a volume of 316.7cm3
3% of that volume is 6.33cm3
Gold has a density of 19.3g per cm3
So that would be 122g of gold per 316.7cm3 or per 10cm length of core
Quartz has a density of 2.648g/cm3 so that 10cm section of HQ core has a mass of about 837g or 0.837kg or 0.000837t
So the grade of that 10cm section is probably about 122g/0.000837t = 146,000g/t or 4,869oz per tonne
If the remaining 90cm in the 1m interval is completely barren then the grade over that 1m will be 1 tenth of that or 14,600g/t or 486.9oz per tonne if my 3% estimate is correct and my sums don’t contain a balls up. Esh
