We spent the early years of WW2 out on The Downs, but came home to Brisbane as soon the Japs were beaten. Place crawling with Yanks, and I had the paper run on Eagle Junction Station. Imagine a 6 year old doing that today - was rich from tips - smoked and bought 2inOnes for my bro and mates. Shat off when price went ftom a penny to tupence - then discontinued cause the bloke who made them had to go to war. Those times never to be repeated, good thing too.
