I don't know that we should measure mining companies on ethicality. Otherwise, they would all fail miserably since every marketing document contains overpromotion of the good points and ignoring of the bad.
In fact I went at did a post grads in geoscience (mineral exploration) just so I could better identify the lies the directors tell in their promotions. It didn't work they still get away with more and other lies.
I don't know that we should measure mining companies on...
