Um ... this is exactly the news people wanted. Just went over some people's heads, apparently, since it is so short and to the point. Iteration 1 the FOMO entrants abandoned ship because the wafers were not functional. Everyone's been waiting on news on iteration 2 and here we have it - functional wafers on fab equipment that is used by memory manufacturers.
Now, further iterations may still follow for numerous reasons (improve cost efficiency, for example). But the major hurdle of proving this chip can be mass-produced is done.
