Just for a bit of clarity, the active extractant chemical in one possible process route for SX-EW of vanadium from sulphuric acid (phosphine acid) is $300 a gram. $300,000 a tonne. You need one mole of phosphine to a mole of vanadium, so if you have a vanadium and sulphuric acid solution with 2% vanadium, you need to provide a significant volume of kerosene and 2% phosphine - so maybe a couple of million bucks of phosphine acid just to charge the SX-EW cell on first-fill.
There's zero active vanadium-only SX-EW mines worldwide, with SX-EW restricted to carnotite uranium ores where vanadium is a byproduct.
So don't count your chickens yet, kiddies.
