I agree with what you are saying, but they have held many fine grain deposits in Victoria and are spending money on that to try and make it work. They are also trying to work out what to do with Balaranald.
Far from convinced they'd go after something in Australia, I think they will head to Africa, possibly go after Kenmare, it's just the opex costs are just that much less, but yes, you do have some sovereign risk issues.
Also if they went after a greenfield project, they'd want to to do all their own FEED.
