Sorry but I found this to be a bit of a nothing interview. There's were no pointy questions asked.
Perhaps typical of me but Graeme is disappointed with how IEC is doing on the ASX but in all fairness I'd argue it's the underlying issues that are keeping investors on the sidelines!
- The Tanzanian government taking part of our tenement and giving it to Dangote cement with no reimbursement in any way, shape or form.
"Tancoal has advised Ministry of Energy and Minerals that it reserves its legal rights and insists that due compensation be paid to Tancoal for costs expended on the area to be given-up." What happened on that front??
- The mine mouth power project which has been shaping up as a pipe dream from years. (admittedly it sounds like Tanzania is the hold up here)
- The royalty issue. (Is this the same as the Letter of Demand from the Tanzanian gvmt?)
- The Caspian Issue.
- The wrapping up of Malawi operations. (ongoing)
- Sale of the drilling business which in the 2017 annual report was stated as "progressing"
- The cash position has been very, very tight.
Things are heading in the right direction though but gee, don't blame investors for watching and waiting to see if IEC keeps its head above water.
