Yeah I agree, if IDX and CAJ can't sort out a merger in a boardroom I'm not sure an on-market bid resolves anything. A truly merged MergeCo would be a stronger entity but not if CAJ used its cash stockpile to pay cash to IDX holders. I'd much prefer a new entity to take on lower debt.
This acquisition should be accreditive to CAJ holders and Tasmania is an ideal location.
