Can't you see the potential for abuse around this announcement? The company will be very aware that it has a large retail shareholder base and that the annoucement would have potential to spark speculation amongst this group, ie be considered material amongst this group. If the announcement is not material then why make it? Surely if Huayou have triggered the 5% or 1% change rule under the corporations law they will be notifying the market themselves in the next 2 days and will provide all the relevant information as prescribed by law.

If the actual change in holding isn't significant enough to trigger a notice under the law then the announcement is truly immaterial and not worthy of moving the share price dial. All it has the potential to do is create liquidity and I wonder who that might serve?Esh

They originally had a holding of 11% (9.8?? % currently) under previous Ann as a strategic investor. Iwould suspect that through preceding CR’s dilution to their holding has occurred... now I’m not over the rules but as a layman I would assume they have a right to buy back up to their stated holdings without making any Ann? ... Thoughts ???
