ok just my 1 cent,CP re SUV's,I was wondering why people still prepared to buy 'fuel guzzling ?' SUV's,then a friend rolls up in a jeep suv, blah blah until the conversation gets to the high fuel consumption ? when i bring up the topic? Now i'm going by my memory but the jeep suv electronics will switch a couple of cylinders off under the right conditions reducing fuel consumption to approx 5 litres per 100 klms on any distance trip. Best to fact check these figures, but my guess is if jeep suv has this now obvious fuel consumption control technology most if not all newish suv's will have similar.Which imo supports huninni's post re more economical vehicles. No different to hybrid vehicles ie around town petrol, any reasonable distance electric. ps watching ctx but hmm still not ready to open cheque book but still thinking about that possible capital return. ps a friend has a toyota hybrid,i hate it all electronics, she said start it so i did ?,no noise ,i pushed accelerator no movement, she said its not on,so then i did what she said and again no noise but off we drove. imo only all these new electric vehicles including all top brands are a plastic electronic future nightmare for any future electronic repairer and owner to find any fault, Gone are the days of nice simple mechanics.ie ahh there is the problem u need a spark plug. .
