my understanding is that when the infamous bad boy Malcolm held the reigns, he was sucking up to his lefty mates by stating that new vehicles will need massive CO2 emission cuts, otherwise, the makers would have to pay a special tax. now that apparently was to appease the UN and the Green/Red party.
OK- now when the Labor union puppet Bill gets in next year, he too will have to pay back the Watermelon party for getting his carcass into the lodge.
ps- so basically the EV hype is not a hype. it's just a case of WHEN it turns into reality!
