I found what I was looking for , extracts from the Mt Wellington Gold Pty Ltd July 1997 report " EL3333-G27295-199706 Annual Vol 1 Hill 800" report ... I have highlighted the relevant bits below:

Mikes Bluff did not show up much in the way of Gold at the time, but they noted more work needed to be done, Long Ridge was a similar story.
