I didn't know that the Chair (Bob Ling's daughter?) was "hands on". Poor governance; the job of the board is to find a gun CEO. Funny position that HIL has got itself in. I can see the logic that they needed to get out of bending steel and into "technology" - but, they are in fact just a technology reseller. Most of their products are manufactured overseas - nothing clever in that (yeah, they make a few bits but nothing significant). A very interesting case study. Wonder what I would do with it - what have they got left to leverage?
