IAU geos did all their drilling from surface and thought the Paulsen lodes were mined out
Bill Beument being a mining engineer knew it would be cheaper to drill from a plat deep within the mine across to the lodes so a shorter distance from drill collar to the prospective lode than from surface and therefore cheaper and less chance of drill deflection that drilling from surface
He found the Voyager ore body extended deeper
Likewise JK is a mining engineer the exploration results released today ie DFUG0048 were also mainly drilled from within the mine either in the pit or under ground not from surface .
A drill hole from surface will normally have a dip angle of 60 degrees most of the drill holes had a shellower dip angle if you look at the drill angles on the Dip column indicating drilling from a plat in a mined out drive or from a bench in the pit across to another potential lode
Yes it was an exciting time when Beument took over Paulsens in around 2011 cap then was around $15Million then now guess it is around $3Billion
IAU went to Indonesia thinking they had found a big base metal mine , but when they landed their chopper were told to get back in and never come back .
