Hey guys, thanks for the kind thoughts - and great to read NT man's history. They say my paternal family line used to be Ross-xxx and that came about when a female convict got knocked up, and when asked for the name of the father said 'Major Ross' (the Rum Corps Commander) - in early Sydney there were lots of Ross-s but then it became a liability and people dropped it. Sorry Ken, can't help.
