My great, great (to many greats) came out as a Royal Marine in 1823 and took Command of Port Macquarie in 1826. True story - he became the second richest man in the Colonies (after Macarthur) and had land holdings that stretched from Port Macquarie, Tamworth, Armidale to Glen Innes and then LOST the whole lot!!! I could have been a Packer or a Murdoch! (Reckon I still will be with CTM though!).
