On the face of it, it looks similar to the Granny and Windich deposits but let's remember that a large amount of ore processed at "Granny Smith" originated from the world-class Wallaby deposit which is hosted by a 1,200 m thick mafic conglomerate (ie not the same geology).
In trying to understand the significance of this phrase
"in a similar geological setting to the large Granny Smith deposit in the Eastern Yilgarn"
we would need to know how many ounces have actually been mined at Granny Smith and associated deposits.
Anyone have this number at hand? I've only been to the Granny Smith mine once (looking for drilling contactors) and that was before the two sides of the deposit got amalgamated into one when PlacerDome took over AurionGold. It looked like a pretty big pit and operation even at that stage. Esh
