Most of the AIS share price is attributed to it due to Aeris being a major copper miner. Possibly a few recent investors have bought AIS due to the Torrens project but I doubt whether there are many in this situation. Most large holders are long term holders who have seen the good and bad of the Coal and gold projects in Indonesia. The Torrens project is a sideline which may come to fruition in the future, but AIS will do well regardless. The fact that AIS is so tightly held will actually prove to be a better investment for those who seek a Torrens exposure as the 70% share is obviously far bigger as well as the fact if the results are substantial then AIS will not be held back by 1.6 billion shareholders selling as is the case with ARE.
I just double checked my AIS holding and its far more than I thought since I have 2 major holdings and only counted one.
Therefore my holding is AIS:ARE 10:1 , not 10:2 as I stated earlier.
Frankly, I've hardly looked at AIS for a long while as I been mostly involved with OMH. I just hope in the future that AIS performs half as well.
