The theory that the corallite is a deeper source mineral feeding the Kalongwe pit and the mine fragments discovery above is an enticing thought - and you would have to agree a logical explanation. Fingers crossed.
From the core photo the carollite looks to be in the order of 5-20% of the core diameter? Hard to say with a few scratchy pictures. Wording also states a 10m intersection yet the intervals stated are over 18m?
Anyway, 5-20% corrallite over anywhere near that interval would be alright to say the least (under statement) - equating to an expectation somewhere in the region of 1.6-7.6% Co and 0.5-4% Cu. Hard to really gauge the corrallite percentage from those few pictures - might be higher (or lower) - I was looking for the crystals which are clearly visible - but there is also plenty of coppery looking material surrounding the corralite crystals as well.....so we wait for assays.
If it such a significant discovery (which I believe it will be) I find it annoying how little descriptive information was provided in the news. $NZC have a big opportunity for exploration this year - they need to get it right. This is certainly worth following up immediately and fast tracking assays.
