The transport costs should be low. The infrastructure in Malawi is good by African standards. SVM puts the cost of transport to the port of nacala at US$ 66/t. That is low.
There is also the possibility to drive on well-developed roads. Today's report states that:
Recently refurbished rail line to Nacala Port: MOU signed with rail concessionaire - drafting of full transport greement currently underway.
High quality existing road network to site: mostly bitumen with ~10km all-weather gravel road.
10km from planned Bunda electricity sub-station, 44km from new Nkhoma sub-station: grid power provision slated for 2024.
We will certainly soon have a binding agreement with the railway operator.
