I'm not a fan of I forget the term used for traders promoting stocks they hold.

I feel genuine investors who research wisely - choose in the case of mining stocks what specific commodities wisely and of course management/board the rest takes care of itself over time/progress.

When a stock receives broker coverage - sometimes company funded - roadshows at specific mining collaborations - obligatory quarterly/annual reporting it really is an individual choice to invest or not but it's far more targeted and important for fund managers to get on board - or Chinese etc
