The operator always makes the announcement to the ASX and a copy is sent to the JV partners who may stick it on their letterhead and then post it to the market. With the 3D these days its very odd to miss a strike.
There will be oil there. Senex will be doing the sums as to or when to perhaps make an offer or not depending as to how much is down there.
