HDY Fast Tracks High Grade Vanadium Mine Acquisition
So confident is Hardey Resources (ASX:HDY) of the prospects of the Nelly Vanadium Mine that it is expediting its due diligence.
The Nelly Vanadium Mine, located in Argentina’s San Luis Province, has historically produced vanadium pentoxide (V2O5) and the company intend to undertake exploration activities with the aim of proving up a JORC compliant Resource and moving to re-open the mine.
Since announcing the proposed acquisition of the mine just weeks ago, HDY has moved quickly to line up a highly capable due diligence team.
This decision to now expedite due diligence has been supported by several favourable dynamics concurrently in play.
Firstly, there’s a solid financial case for re-opening the mine, especially with demand for vanadium set to grow over the coming years that’s underpinned by the already elevated price.

Additionally, the regulatory process to reactivate a legacy mining licence is fairly straight forward.
Then there’s the potential for HDY to monetise legacy stockpiles as a direct shipping ore (DSO) vanadium product. Early due diligence has highlighted legacy stockpiles around NVM’s historic mineralised workings and significant exploration upside on unexplored areas. A key priority will be to bulk sample these historic stockpiles to verify if they can be sold to third parties to secure early cash flow.
