I could be wrong but I stand by my opinion. The fact that BUPA cover includes optical, physio, chiropractor and access to any dentist the patient chooses only supports my view that it is a better deal! A better anology would be foxtel only $30 or foxtel with the lot $30! Marmalade says he's not sold on the deal because his Dentist is more competent I am saying that there are better insurance deals around $ wise! Sure, some people will take it on, but I can't see how DMA will ever be a "revolution in bringing dental care to the masses!" I did not come to any "conclusion" however I would not be surprised to see some attempt to get more real dollars out of the business because I believe the share price is well overvalued at the moment. Of course finding a buyer will be the issue. They might have to go down the Townsville Mall and hand out copies of the Ord Minnett report.
Support staff, Building leases,Admin Staff, Equipment Costs, Materials (which all have expiry dates and if not used are discarded)are all Fixed expenses!
BUPA bought out Dental Corporation (147 practices) for approx 237 million Dec last year. They may consider 1300?
If his target is 100 practices he had better start buying again. His average over the last 5 years is about 1 per year! Why has he stopped buying?
If I recall a couple of years ago the numbers were looking pretty grim and a $900000 "license fee" and some "consulting fee's" appeared on the right side of the P&L which kept the graph looking right! Never did hear any more about what these "license fee's" were all about?
Sorry but last weeks four corners program has only made me more of a cynic on this stuff.
I was predicting doom and gloom back when the share price was $4 so make your own call anyway.
